Essential Motocross Gear and Clothing

Motocross can be a fun, exciting and extremely exhilarating sport to get involved in. However along with the excitement is also danger. You could be flying through the air with your motorbike one minute feeling on top of the world, and the crashing down to the earth with a mighty thud the next. With all the knocks and bruises you are likely to encounter whilst learning this dangerous sport, it is vital that you kit yourself out in some essential motocross gear. Here is a small list of just a few things you will need.

Motocross Helmet – A motocross crash helmet is probably one of the most crucial pieces of safety gear you can purchase. If you have any crashes with other riders, or fall of your motorbike a good crash helmet will protect your head. You should choose a helmet that is strong and it must be a good fit. If it is too tight you will feel uncomfortable, similarly if is is loose then it may slip off.

Motocross Goggles – When you are riding around a motocross track you will likely be faced with flying debris, dirt and mud. This is why motocross goggles are a must if you want to protect your eyes whilst riding your motorbike. Just like the motocross helmet, you must ensure that your goggles are a good fit.

Motocross Boots and Gloves – Motocross boots and gloves are designed to protect both your hands and feet. As you can image you feet and ankles will get a lot of bumps whilst on your motorbike, therefore you will need very strong and sturdy boots to prevent any injury to them. Likewise the gloves will protect your hands in the same way.

Motocross Pants and Jersey – Your motocross pants and jersey should be durable yet comfortable and light at the same time. You should also choose clothing that is well ventilated and make sure that it fits you well.
